National Brewery Heritage Trust.

Search both the NBHT collection and the partner brewery archives, in association with The National Archives

The archives of the brewing industry are more than collections of records; they reflect the evolution of techniques and trade practices, and the cultural impact of brewing within communities.

By preserving these archives, we ensure that brewing’s rich history remains accessible, allowing future generations to engage with its heritage, learn from past successes and challenges, and inspire innovation while respecting tradition.

It is a long-held ambition of the Trust to share industry archives online, to allow maximum access to this history.

We are currently working with Shepherd Neame, St Austell Brewery and Greene King. The aim is to link the online archive from each of these companies to our own online archive.

In practice this means that anyone who searches our archive will also be able to access relevant material from each of these companies.

Once we have completed this work, and thoroughly tested it, we aim to repeat the process with archives from other breweries. Please contact our Archivist Stephanie Nield if you want to get involved by linking your company archive.

This project is funded by the Brewers Company.
